MEDICAL EDUCATION UNIT
Introduction:
Sir William Osler, who has been attributed with many of our diagnoses and epithets, professed the responsibilities of teaching Medicine, stating, “There are two aspects in which we may view the teacher—as a worker and instructor in science and as practitioner and professor of the art.”

These are tenets that still hold true today and embody much of the goals and ethics of the Medical Education Unit of Subharti Medical College. We at our Institute realize the importance of ever increasing role of medical teachers in the present scenario and aim to provide our teachers the world class training in teaching learning as well as assessment. Teaching in Medicine has been evolving at a very rapid pace and today’s medical teachers should have a knowhow and proficiency in the various modalities of teaching learning and assessment.

Dr A.K Asthana, Principal and Dean, Subharti Medical College is the Hon. Director of the Unit. He has been involved in Medical Education for a long time and has a very rich experience in this area both nationally as well as internationally. He has been a member of the Medical Education & Curriculum Development Committee of Medical School, University of P.N.G. and University of Fizi.

Dr Rajesh Misra, Dean (Academics), is the Hon. Coordinator of the Unit and he also has a rich experience in the field of Medical Education. He is ably supported by a team of nine faculty members of the College.
