On going research in the Department:

1. Adenosine deaminase (ADA) isoenzyme analysis in pleural effusions: Its diagnostic role and relevance to the origin of increased ADA in tuberculosis pleurisy.
2. Association of Lipoprotein associated Phospholipase A2 with ACS.
3. Lipid peroxidation products and antioxidant status in uncontrolled Type 2 Diabetic patients with and without microalbuminuria.
4. Significance of serum nitric oxide level in patients with alcoholic liver disease.

Protocol for residents registered for post graduation:
|
|
|
1. Routine duty timings will be 8: 00 A.M to 4: 00 P. M. on all working days, subject
to notification by the Principal.
2. They would be allowed leave as per the norms laid down by Swami Vivekananda Subharti
University & recommended by MCI.
3. They should follow the decorum, punctuality and all the instructions given by their
respective guides, HOD and P.G. council of the department.
4. All P.G. students are supposed to maintain their P.G. Log Book & duly countersigned
by the respective faculty on day to day basis.
5. P.G. students would be routinely posted in associated labs by rotation.
6. All P.G. students must attend postgraduate lectures & Journal club routinely, as
is specified by the department, from time to time.
7. All residents must take U.G. tutorials & practical classes routinely.
8. All residents must attend the theory lectures of undergraduates taken by senior
faculty.
9. All residents must write, a thesis which should be on topic allotted to them, &
according to rules laid down by Swami Vivekananda Subharti University and as per
recommendation by MCI. This must be their original work.
10. Students must make themselves well verse with physical & organic aspects of Biochemistry,
instrumentation, clinical biochemistry, diagnostic techniques, biostatistics, enzymes
& vitamins, metabolism(s) of human body, molecular biology, human genetics, oncology,
bioinformatics, immunology & recent advances.
11. Students must attend sessions of Journal Club, Microteaching, Residents conference,
Case presentation, P G Teaching, Hospital round, Group Discussion, Research methodology,
Case of the week, CME, Review of literature, Instrumentation and Animal House Round,
arranged by the department from time to time.
